Some of you may be wondering how my advanced class differs from my on-level classes. My basic answer is that advanced students are expected to go above and beyond what an on-level class can produce. I will be requiring my advanced students to complete all assignments given to my on-level students. Typically, the assignments will be completed at a faster rate. As a result, we will be able to use the extra time for more class discussion and activities, projects, and outside reading.
In order to prepare these students for a 9th Grade Honors Lit, I require the students to complete all homework assignments on time.
I require my advanced students to use technology on a regular basis. Many of the assignments will be completed using multimodal applications such as Glogster, YouTube, MuseumBox, and our class website. Students will also complete an in-depth Multi-Genre Research Project, and will participate in various service learning opportunities.
